Applications for the beginning of the year and spring 2024 residencies are accepted by the end of the year! You can send free-form applications to korentoartofficial@gmail.com. An introduction of yourself/the work group and a short work plan are sufficient for the application.

"Field and forest as far as the eye can see. That is the art residency SäVäri."

Säväri is a complex consisting of two village schools (total approx. 500 m2) and 3 hectares of field and forest in the Sävi village of Sastamala. The surrounding silence, nature and well-maintained school facilities create a wonderful opportunity to make art in a variety of ways.
 

The residence serves well, e.g. visual artists, writers, performers and musicians. At the elementary school, you can use a hall that adapts to art work in a variety of ways. The elementary school also has a professional recording studio. At the junior high school, you can find your own room to spend the night and hang out on your own. The cottage sauna is the best in the world and the grill house has soothing magic.

The location is very remote and the nearest services can be found in the village of Suodenniemi 14 km away. There is no public transport to the place, only a shopping truck stops next to it on Fridays. If necessary, rides are organized e.g. From Tampere, Mouhijärvi, Ikaalinen, Hämeenkyrö, Häijää, Kankaanpää and Karkku. Four artists live permanently in SäVäri. Several artists and groups also work in short-term residencies in SäVäri throughout the year.
